Cotham Parish Church

Serving the parish of St Saviour with St Mary, Cotham in Bristol

Children and Young People

Cotham Parish Church aims to cater for all our members, irrespective of age.

0 to 4: We have a room available, during our services, for parents or carers and their children.

4 to 12: Normally Junior Church meets during the first half of Sunday morning services. The content is tailored to the children’s age and we are fortunate to have a team of dedicated volunteers to lead these sessions.

18 plus: We hope that all our services are appropriate for the over-18 age-group, and that younger people will gradually become more integrated into the worship of the main congregations as they grow. Children and young people have an active role in the liturgy, and from time-to-time lead intercessions and take part in serving at the eucharist.

During the week
The Church runs a drop-in play group during the week for parents and toddlers to come and make friends and enjoy themselves. Contact the church for more information.

Child Protection
The church has a rigorous child protection policy, which is in line with the current best practice published by the Church of England House of Bishops. All workers with children (under 18s) have to pass through these procedures in order to work in this capacity in the church. A nominated person provides a point of contact for any child who wishes to talk through concerns in confidence.
