Cotham Parish Church

Serving the parish of St Saviour with St Mary, Cotham in Bristol.

Services

8am – Holy Communion (said)
Normally using a contemporary form of service. On the 2nd Sunday of each month, the Book of Common Prayer is used.

10am – Holy Communion
This service attracts a broad age-range and uses a variety of musical styles. It is our largest Sunday congregation. During the first part of the service, special concurrent activities are laid on for children and young people in the church halls. We offer the laying on of hands and prayer for healing at the second Sunday of the month. About every quarter, we run an all-age service which is particularly planned to be accessible to children (details will appear on the website).

8.15pm – Foundation Services
Foundation is a fresh expression of Church born out of Cotham. Most Sundays, this service has a quiet and meditative format using silence, symbols, Christian meditation and a simple form of Night Prayer (sometimes using the Order for Compline) but it also sometimes expands to become a multi-media and participative event. Details can be found on Foundation’s website. The 8.15pm service is preceded by cocoa/tea/coffee, served at 8pm. It is usually followed by a trip to the pub.

Weekdays
The church opens daily on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 9am for Morning Prayer. On Fridays at 9am, there is a service of Holy Communion. The prayers on Monday are particularly focussed on the needs of those who are sick and the Church’s ministry of healing. In the weeks following Easter and Christmas, this pattern can occasionally be disrupted, but normally you should find someone in the church between 9am and 11.30am. After the morning service finishes, the church remains open for personal, private prayer until 11.30am.
